Hi, this is Coach Brian Williams. Thanks for taking a look at SBR Performance Coaching. You won’t find a lot of fancy bells and whistles on my page. What you will find is some information about who I am, why I am passionate about the sport of triathlon, why I love to coach, and what I hope to help you accomplish.
I have been a certified USAT, USA and USMS Masters coach for a few years now. However it feels like I have been coaching my entire adult life. Raising five kids, coaching baseball, softball, soccer, swimming …. Then as a Coast Guardsman, I trained, taught, and worked with adults from various backgrounds for over thirty years. Now I work part time as a substitute teacher (K-12) in the local school systems. I believe these experiences have honed my skills as a successful coach.
I have had the opportunity to coach athletes ranging in age from 12 to 65 over the past three years. From the Elite Youth and Junior Nationals, Age Group Nationals, to athletes who just wanted to have fun and finish a tri. All have overcome individual challenges, yet as a team we have finished each race.
I am currently coaching athletes from newbie’s who are training to complete their first sprint to a few with who have their eyes set on the finish line at IM Louisville. One thing you will hear from anyone I coach is that I am always available. I do not have a graded fee for coaching. Everyone is treated the same regardless of experience. I study everyone’s progress daily on Training Peaks, but I also want to know how each athlete is feeling. There are a lot of things numbers can’t tell.
Please contact me if you are interested in seeing how I can help you reach your goals. I would enjoy hearing from you.

I started working with Brian a few years ago, mainly with my swim. I eventually hired him to coach me in all three disciplines of triathlon. Brian is a good coach. He figured out how to coach me personally, somethings worked better than others and he picked up on that. I have completed several short course triathlons, two 70.3 Ironman events, and am presently training with Brian for IM Louisville. I highly recommend Coach Brian and SBR Performance Coaching.
I began training with Coach Brian last year. I had no idea of what I would need to do to prepare for a triathlon. Since then I have completed 3 sprint triathlons and this year plan to compete in 2 Olympic distance events and 70.3 in Augusta.
Coming from a swimming and soccer background, I needed help learning the skills of cycling and endurance running. With Coach Brian's help I took 3rd place in my age group at my first Olympic Distance event and have stood on the podium at three other events since then..
My coach Brian Williams has helped me reach all my goals. With his help I have qualified for the USA Age Group National Triathlon every year I have competed.

When I decide to try the sport of triathlon, I was not a runner and I didn't know how to swim. In just 4 months working with Coach Brian, I completed my first sprint triathlon and beat my goal time. Now I am training with Coach Brian to compete in Augusta 70.3
